What to expect
Most of the riding on these routes will be a mix of gravel and forestry tracks, dirt roads, some ramblas (dry riverbed ‘roads’) and singletrack with a bare minimal use of asphalt roads, to keep the wheels rolling very little hike-a-bike is expected.
If we’re riding in the deserts then expect a few sandy roads but usually they are rideable, and the ups and downs shorter and more manageable. On the other hand, when riding in the sierras (mountains) you’d expect some long climbs (but with nice gradients) and equally long descents. Some terrain can be rocky, and the nature of the routes to take in more remote areas will reject the less maintained tracks we ride.
Depending on the time of year you’re riding you can expect ope
